-
Dogs, cats and pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, etc. that have fur). No pet is too small. We believe the size of a pet has nothing to do with the size of the love.
Dogs, cats, and pocket pets can also be euthanized in our calm Comfort Center if you prefer. -
Yes. For families who prefer it, we also offer euthanasia in our comfort room at Forget Me Not Aquamation’s facility in Burnsville, MN.

Children, other pets, and close friends are all welcome.
-
In general, choose a comfortable or favorite spot for your pet. If you have a cat and it’s hiding, sometimes it is best to give the first injection where they are.
Have favorite treats ready, if you pet is still eating.
Have water and Kleenex available and give yourself permission to simply be present.
After the euthanasia
-
You have choices on how to care for your pet’s body afterwards.
1. You can choose to make your own arrangements.
2. We can arrange transport to our sister company, Forget Me Not — Gentle Pet Aquamation and Comfort Center, for eco-friendly water cremation aftercare. -
Aquamation (also called alkaline hydrolysis or water cremation) is a gentle, water-based process that is more environmentally sustainable than flame cremation.
It results in a larger volume of soft, white remains.
Learn more about what to expect with aquamation here. -
The aquamation process takes a little longer than traditional flame cremation. It is our goal to have ashes ready for return in 7-10 days. Our standard private cremation return comes in a scatter tube and our beautiful Forget Me Not box, a place to keep special items.
We have a curated selection of urns available at our comfort center for an additional cost.
Ashes can be picked up at our Comfort Center, or can be mailed or hand delivered for an added fee.
During the appointment

No. Your pet will be deeply sedated and at peace before passing. The process is designed to be calm and painless.
